The occupant behavior research work is led by Dr. Tianzhen Hong. He was an operating agent of IEA EBC Annex 66 and led Subtask D to integrate occupant behavior models and tools with building performance simulation. Annex 66 bolsters DOE/LBNL efforts by bringing together the world’s best researchers and leverages co-synergistic projects. Dr. Hong also led the 5-year occupant behavior research project under the U.S.-China Clean Energy Research Center on Building Energy Efficiency. He is the founder and chair of ASHRAE MTG.OBB, a multi-disciplinary task group on occupant behavior in buildings. He currently co-leads Subtask 3 of IEA EBC Annex 79.
